FIRST TRIP BACK FROM EMER LEAVE DUE TO FAMILY CRISIS TYPE SITUATION FOLLOWED BY 2 MIN REST PERIODS (10 HR BLOCK TO BLOCK). NONSTANDARD OP (SINGLE ENG TAXI TO SAVE FUEL) -- MISSED 1 OR MORE VISUAL CUES AND NONSTANDARD RAMP SIGNAL(S). TAXIED INTO A BAGGAGE CART. MINOR DENT IN R SLAT LEADING EDGE AT WING ROOT. NO INJURIES. ACFT CLRED TO CONTINUE IN SVC AFTER MAINT INSPECTION. I WAS CLRED TO CONTINUE AFTER CONTACTING COMPANY DUTY OFFICER. I WAS UNDER MORE STRESS THAN USUAL FROM MORE DIRECTIONS THAN USUAL. SEVERAL NONSTANDARD OPS TAKING PLACE AT SAME TIME. 1) SINGLE ENG TAXI. 2) LOADING BAGS ON ACFT AFTER PUSHBACK FROM GATE. 3) NO COMS FROM GND PERSONNEL REFERENCING THAT BAGS WOULD BE LOADED ON RAMP. 4) FO ON FIRST LINE TRIP AFTER IOE VACATION (WAS QUALIFIED IN OTHER POS; NOT NEW TO AIRLINE FLYING BUT WAS NEW TO 2 MAN COCKPIT AND THE MLG). 5) I DID NOT GIVE ENOUGH CONSIDERATION TO HOW I COULD BE EFFECTED BY THESE THINGS AND DID NOT TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT MYSELF AND MY OPS FROM UNDESIRABLE RESULTS OF THESE FACTORS.
