PLT ASSISTING SICK PAX PENETRATES RESTR AREA.

Narrative

WHILE ON A FLT FROM STELLAR AIRPARK (P19) TO SAN I PROGRAMMED MY FLT PLAN IN MY LORAN UNIT THAT WOULD TAKE ME S OF R2307 OVER YUMA AND INTO SAN DIEGO AREA. I HAD ONE PAX ON BOARD DURING THIS TRIP AND SHE WAS NOT A VERY REGULAR FLIER OF SMALL AIRPLANES. THE SURFACE TEMPS WERE ABOVE 100 DEG F AND WE STARTED EXPERIENCING LIGHT TURB. MY PAX BEGAN FEELING A LITTLE UPSET AT THIS TIME BECAUSE OF THE TURB. AS I FLEW THE ACFT I ALSO ATTEMPTED TO HELP HER CONDITION AND FIND A CONTAINER BECAUSE I WAS AFRAID SHE MAY VOMIT. I WAS DISTR FOR SEVERAL MINS AND DIDN'T NOTICE THE POOR AND DEGRADED NAV WARNING ON MY LORAN UNIT. DURING THIS TIME I HAD BEEN HOLDING A HDG AND KEEPING A REMOTE CDI UNIT CENTERED. AFTER GETTING EVERYTHING BACK IN ORDER IN THE AIRPLANE; I TURNED MY FULL ATTN BACK TO NAV AND NOTICED MY LORAN WAS MI OFF COURSE AND I HAD PENETRATED THE RESTR AREA. I THEN TURNED AND LEFT THE RESTR AREA BY THE MOST DIRECT RTE POSSIBLE. TO PREVENT THIS FROM OCCURRING AGAIN I AM GOING TO RELOCATE MY LORAN NEAR THE CDI UNIT OR ALSO PUT A REMOTE WARNING LIGHT NEAR THE CDI.
