GA SMA FAILED TO GIVE WAY TO A GLIDER LNDG ON A XING RWY THEN COMPLAINED THAT THE GLIDER WAS USING THE WRONG RWY.

Synopsis

GA SMA FAILED TO GIVE WAY TO A GLIDER LNDG ON A XING RWY THEN COMPLAINED THAT THE GLIDER WAS USING THE WRONG RWY.

Narrative

A WIND SHIFT HAD OCCURRED FROM 340 DEG TO 230 DEG WHEN I ENTERED THE PATTERN IN MY GLIDER. THE UNICOM ANNOUNCED THE WIND SHIFT TO AN ACFT; ALREADY '7 MI L BASE' FOR RWY 34. I ANNOUNCED MY POS; ON UNICOM FREQ. MY INTENTION TO LAND ON RWY 22 AND THAT I WOULD STAY CLR OF ALL FIXED WING TFC. I ALSO CALLED THE TFC TO MAKE SURE HE HEARD ME. NO ANSWER; HE CONTINUED HIS APCH AND WAS NOW ON FINAL (LONG FINAL). I MADE A MIDFIELD XWIND AT 1800 AGL A SHORT DOWNWIND TO AVOID ANY APPEARANCE OF CUTTING THIS GUY OFF; THEN BASE AND FINAL. AT EACH TURN I ANNOUNCED ON THE FREQ. NO ANSWER FROM OTHER ACFT. THE UNICOM RESPONDED TO ME TO BE SURE I KNEW THAT HE WAS LNDG ON RWY 34. I HELD SHORT OF RWY 34 AFTER LNDG ON RWY 22. HE WAS JUST LNDG ON RWY 34 AT THIS POINT. THE REASON I'M FILING A RPT IS HE COMPLAINED THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE LANDED ON RWY 22. SINCE THE WINDS WERE LIGHT RWY PREFERENCE SEEMS OPTIONAL AS LONG AS THERE IS NO CONFLICT. SINCE RWY 22 AND RWY 34 INTERSECT I STAYED OUT OF HIS WAY AND HELD SHORT. IF HE THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE A CONFLICT WHY DIDN'T HE GAR OR GIVE WAY TO ME; A GLIDER?
