LNDG IN BIPLANE WITH LOW LOWER WING. RPTR MOMENTARILY LOST CTL AND WING CAUGHT BRUSH AT EDGE OF RWY CAUSING DAMAGE TO ACFT.
Narrative
WHILE ALIGNED WITH THE CENTERLINE DURING ROUNDOUT AND FLARE; I ENCOUNTERED SLIGHT TURB CAUSING THE L WING TO DIP; VEERING ME L OF CENTERLINE. I CORRECTED AS I TOUCHED DOWN; WINGS LEVEL; ON THE RWY. THE LOWER L WING TIP ENCOUNTERED HVY BRUSH AT THE RWY'S EDGE. I IMMEDIATELY APPLIED FULL PWR IN AN ATTEMPT TO GAR AND APPLIED R RUDDER IN ATTEMPT TO COUNTER THE FORCE THAT THE BRUSH IMPARTED ON THE ACFT. THE FORCE OF THE BRUSH WAS TOO GREAT CAUSING ME TO VEER OFF THE RWY. THROTTLE WAS IMMEDIATELY REDUCED TO IDLE. THE AIRPLANE CAME TO REST WITH SLIGHT DAMAGE (WING TIPS; WHEEL SHIRTS ETC). THE PURPOSE OF THIS RPT IS MY CONCERN REGARDING THE SAFETY OF OTHER PLTS OF LOW WING ACFT BECAUSE OF THE BRUSH ADJACENT TO THE RWY. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE STRIP IS ASPHALT AND 50 FT WIDE BUT BRUSH GROWS RIGHT TO THE EDGE. THE BUSHES ARE TOUGH AND STAND FROM 2-5 FT HIGH. ARPT MGMNT HAD BEEN ADVISED BY LCL FSDO TO MOW THE WEEDS BUT IT HAS NOT BEEN DONE. RPTR STATED HE FELT THE ARPT MGMNT (COUNTY) WAS NEGLIGENT AND HE HAS WRITTEN AND SENT PICTURES OF THE BRUSH AND ASKED FOR COMPENSATION FOR HIS DAMAGE.
