Synopsis

C172 pilot reported a jet blast event while taxiing behind a corporate jet aircraft.

Narrative

My aircraft was taxing north on Taxiway C from exiting Taxiway J from an arrival on XXL. I received a taxi clearance to head north to FBO behind a C172 taxing for departure on XXL. As that C172 was passing near to entrance into FBO that aircraft issued an advisory on the Ground Control frequency that a Challenger was spooling up with the exhaust pointed west directly into the C Taxiway causing that C172 to feel the initial 'idle' thrust. As I was about to encounter the 'idle' thrust from the Challenger I experienced a significant rocking of wings followed by an offset toward the active Runway XXR; but not leaving the Taxiway. Ground Control issued a clearance to the Challenger to 'give way' to my aircraft as I entered on the ramp; however; the Challenger had already initiated its spool up and turn to the north to exit the ramp. The Challenger did give way; but it was not in time to avoid a possible safety of flight issue with my near pass behind of the Challenger on Taxiway C behind the previous C172. This situation could have easily been mitigated by ground crew towing the Challenger from its East/West orientation to a North/South orientation thereby keeping any 'idle' thrust from potentially causing a more serious incursion.
