PROP STRIKE IN TAXIING INCIDENT.

Narrative

INTENDING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WHAT HAD BEEN A BEAUTIFUL DAY; I CALLED FOR AND RECEIVED A CLRNC TO TAXI TO THE CALM WIND RWY 5; FULL LENGTH WITH INSTRUCTIONS TO HOLD SHORT OF THE SAME RWY. I HAD HARDLY BEGUN TO TAXI WHEN THE CTLR QUERIED ME ABOUT MY INTENTIONS OF COMPETING AT A LCL AEROBATIC CONTEST. I ANSWERED HIM NOTICING THAT I WAS NOW CLOSER TO THE HOLD SHORT LINE THAN I HAD THOUGHT. WHEN I WENT TO APPLY THE BRAKES MY R FOOT SOFT SOLED SHOE JAMMED BTWN THE R RUDDER PEDAL AND THE R HEEL BRAKE. THE AIRPLANE BEGAN TO TURN SHARPLY R TOWARDS A GULLEY AND SOME TAXIWAY LIGHTS. IN AN EFFORT TO REGAIN CTL OF THE ACFT I APPLIED FULL L BRAKE AND BACK STICK. WITH BTWN 1200-1500 HRS OF TAILDRAGGER TIME WITHOUT INCIDENT; I WOULD NOT HAVE IMAGINED THAT AT A SPD OF 5-10 MPH; CONFIRMED BY WITNESSES; THAT THE ACFT WOULD HAVE BEEN CAPABLE OF STRIKING THE PROP BUT THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. THE ONLY OTHER DAMAGE WAS A SLIGHT DENT TO THE RUDDER BY THE TAIL WHEEL WHEN THE TAIL CAME BACK TO THE GND. THIS IS A NON RPTABLE INCIDENT BUT I THOUGHT IT BEST TO INFORM YOU.
