Pilot reported a NMAC while inbound to remote tower-controlled FNL airport.
Synopsis
Pilot reported a NMAC while inbound to remote tower-controlled FNL airport.
Narrative
Near Miss on final.FNL needs a radar feed. I've teased out as much details about the incident with my Co Pilot in the right seat (what they saw from their vantage point) and figured out what might have happened. Also why they're can only be a very limited amount of traffic in the pattern. I think the cameras fail at depth perception; and that's what's in use at this time. Also the IPad that I use for ADS-B conflict reporting crashed at just the right critical time; I've since reported that to the software company; they suggested that the configuration I was operating in may have been 'problematic' I'll try their suggested Fix.The day in question was so busy they cleared us through the Class B coming from South Denver in the Flyway just to keep us vertically separated from VFR traffic coming from multiple directions. When we got close to NoCo FNL airspace it was very congested; Flight Following vectored us in for spacing all the way to the tower; then handed us off; that's when it got real exciting. The Tower cleared us to follow traffic on short final number two; I couldn't see them and nothing appeared on my IPad ADS-B as a conflict but I was mostly looking outside the plane; maybe I missed that; I think we were 3 miles out. My Co-Pilot was looking out the right side when their ForeFlight crashed and the screen went blank; with that crash the audio conflict reports ceased. I was told to report Johnson's Corner but by the time I could report to Tower; due to all the communications chatter; I had already passed that point; but I did mention that fact.My CoPilot caught sight of low traffic on our right side and below us but didn't realize what was happening; the traffic in question didn't show on the IPad and I didn't see the traffic visually since it was in my blind spot Low and to the Right. I was about to advise that I still didn't have traffic in sight when a shape materialized from underneath my nose; very very close; I made an immediate right turn and advised Tower. They are testing the new video system at the time; I'm making a guess that they couldn't tell how close I was; possibly a parallax issue? The conflicting traffic was low and flat while I had the ILS dialed up and following the glide path possibly a little high but descending capturing the localizer from the Left side. In addition the Controllers have new reporting points but.....when traffic levels are high; many times you can't report over that point because everyone is talking. My position report was late; but even as I said that 'I had passed that point' they must not have realized that placed me nearly on top of the traffic I was looking for.
