Synopsis

Flight Instructor reported student flying SR20 aircraft encountered possible fuel leak inflight.

Narrative

I noticed on my Foreflight (my student on their solo cross-country flight) was deviating off their flight plan; and was descending towards ZZZ1. I was teaching BI when I saw a call on my phone from my solo student. I immediately went to Name and Name1 and kept trying to call my student back. She ended up picking up; and told us she landed safely at ZZZ1; due to CAS (Crew Alerting System) warning in red flashing saying 'Low fuel quantity' on the PFD (Primary Flight Display); with the MFD (Multi-function Flight Display) stating 4-6 gal fuel total remaining. My student told me she thought she possibly had a fuel leak in the gascolator or somewhere on the wing she couldn't see; hence the diversion. Her fuel quantity gauge showed correctly; but due to the other indications regarding fuel being low; my student wanted to land to be safe. She did the calculations of the fuel remaining to see if she could make it back to ZZZ; and she found out she would not be able to make it. Name1; Name2; Name; and I decided that I will send her an endorsement making her legal to fly ZZZ1 to ZZZ; once she verified visually she had fuel and there was no leak. She made it back safe and sound to ZZZ.
