Synopsis
Air carrier Safety Analyst reported undeclared dangerous goods cargo arrived at destination airport. The event was caused by a communication breakdown during TSA departure screening.
Narrative
The dangerous goods was accepted and a checklist was completed upon arrival at cargo terminal in ZZZ1. During screening; a skid was broken down so it could be screened on a piece level; according to TSA regulations. At the same time; the dangerous goods piece was placed on the belt for the x-ray machine and followed the wine boxes through the machine. The person on the other end who was rebuilding the skid after screening; was unaware of the additional piece placed on the x-ray machine belt; so he loaded on the skid with the wine; and shrink wrapped the skid. Both shipments were destined to ZZZ2. The skid was loaded on XXXXX; and loaded in position 21P. Because of this error; the dangerous goods was transported as undeclared; without being registered on the Dangerous Goods Form. Our company has confirmed by surveillance that the dangerous goods piece was loaded on the skid with the wine. [The] company notified our station in ZZZ2; and they retrieved the dangerous goods piece from the skid of wine. There appears to be a lack of communication between the screeners. There should be a verbal notification to the person receiving the pieces from the x-ray machine that one shipment is complete; and another is on its' way through. [I suggest] better communication between the screening staff; and more awareness of dangerous goods.
