Synopsis

Flight Crew reported a go around was caused by a Leading Edge Flaps Transit Light remained illuminated after flaps were fully configured on approach. The Flight Crew ran the Quick Reference Handbook procedures; then requested priority handling and made a precautionary landing at destination airport.

Narrative

Leading Edge Flaps Transit Light remained Illuminated after fully configured for the approach. We executed a missed approach and brought the flaps up during the go around. We ran the Quick Reference Handbook while flaps were up; following the option that stated; Trailing edge flaps are up. We configured for a second approach and the light illuminated once again when we selected flaps to 10. We broke off from the approach and left the flaps at 10. We ran the Quick Reference Handbook again; this time following the Trailing edge flaps are extended and the trailing edge flap position indication agrees with the flap handle position option. This option leads to a flaps 15 landing and at this point we requested priority handling. We executed an approach and landing with flaps at 15 and had Crash Fire Rescue measure brake temps upon landing. Once we received the all clear from Crash Fire Rescue we contacted dispatch and maintenance control who told us to continue to the gate. ELB entries were made upon reaching the gate.

Second reporter narrative

On approach to landing received LE Flap Transit Caution Light; performed a go around. Completed checklist; light extinguished. On 2nd approach light reappeared; performed flaps 15 landing as instructed by checklists. Requested priority handling. Nonevent landing.
