Synopsis
ZDC Controller reported a bad routing to PBI; advised the routing is bad and then were instructed not to fix the bad routing.
Narrative
Please review ZDC's MBI 22-076: AC Reroutes and AIMS. It's asking us to get information on any flights that aren't routed correctly so management can file AIMS tickets. I'm already filing reports on bad routing issues through our sectors that have been going on for at least a year. Not to one airport...to many many airports. One more routing problem; that the FAA knows about in advance; is not going to make it safer. It is going to make it more unsafe. And it's a busy airport; PBI. And they have told us not to fix the routing; so how will we know if it is wrong or not if we didn't have to learn what the right routing was? And asking us to print a strip; get up from our position to get a strip; write on the strip the date; write on the strip the time; Zulu or local? Doesn't say; then get back up from our position to walk it to the Controller in Charge desk...... for them to probably throw it away and not do anything with it... yeah; this seems like a great way for airspace to say... see; it works; I'm not getting any strips. And how long will ZJX take bad routing to PBI? I would venture to say; not long. Because whoever decided this was OK with ZJX probably isn't the one usually sitting there taking the hand-offs; just like whoever approved this for ZDC must not be the one having to deal with issuing new route after new route after new route while they are busy. We should not be doing any route changes until we can do them properly. Or at the very least fix the route problems that already exist before we intentionally create new ones. When we are admitting that we know that it is going to be a problem before it event starts isn't that a great indicator that maybe we should go back to the drawing board and fix it before we allow it to happen.
