Synopsis
Experimental Pilot reported hitting a power line while landing on an unfamiliar runway. The pilot stated the aircraft's prop was slightly damaged and the power company inspected and repaired the power line.
Narrative
I was landing at ZZZ. AFD indicated power line at south end of the field. I have landed at this airfield approximately 5 times; but always on Runway XX. I had cleared one set of power lines at the south end of the field and was in final descent. I did not see the second set of power lines until it was too late to avoid. My propeller clipped; and severed; the bottom of the two wires and the aircraft continued to descend to the runway. Aircraft bounced twice on the runway and came to rest in the center of the runway. Minor damage to the aircraft to include one blade on the propeller; the upper and lower cowl and no injuries were sustained. I made contact with the owner of the airport; who made contact with the power company; within a half an hour. The power line was a neutral wire and was repaired during the same day. Aircraft was removed from airfield via trailer. In hind sight; I should have made a low pass over the airfield; as this was the my first attempt at landing on Runway XY. Having reviewed the pertinent FAA guidelines; this does not appear to rise the requirement to further report to other agencies; such as the NTSB; as the damage to the aircraft was not substantial and the damage to external objects is not considered to exceed $25;000.
