Synopsis

B737 NG Flight Attendant reported an aircraft problem which grounded the aircraft; leaving the crew in a foreign country with no hotel rooms or services.

Narrative

On Date; I was scheduled to deadhead on Aircraft Y from ZZZ2 to ZZZ1. Once in ZZZ1 I was scheduled on [a] flight to ZZZZ. The flight went according to schedule. Landed in ZZZZ and after all passengers deplaned; the CA (Captain) informed the whole crew that the aircraft was a NO GO; apparently when it landed an engine malfunctioned and there was debris in the fuel that showed in their system. He communicated with their chief pilots; Dispatch and Maintenance and apparently they all concurred that we couldn't use the aircraft for our flight back to ZZZ3. I asked him what we were supposed to do and he said that we had to talk to the Station Manager and that they were to coordinate for us to get back to ZZZ3 since there are no overnight arrangements set up in ZZZZ. The Station Manager came over to our aircraft; she was already aware of the situation before the CA said anything. The CA spoke with her and she told us that she would set everything up for us to leave on another flight that had just arrived and was actually going to ZZZ3 as well; that she would walk us over to that aircraft. We sealed all our liquor kits and international kit and walked over. They told the CA to move the aircraft to a different location and then he joined us in the new aircraft right after. We were on the ground for almost 4 hours; (with no crew meals) during that ample time we (pilots or flight attendants) did not receive any communications from crew scheduling; Dispatch; chief pilots or the Station Manager informing us to do anything different or communicating that a ferry flight was even being sent to replace our aircraft. All communication I received was from our CA. I have no reasonable means of international communication; we basically had to go by what the CA and Station Manager told us. We have no international call service on my phone; which is always on airplane mode when I am on international locations so that I do not acquire any fees; no WIFI on our plane or any other way of communicating with crew scheduling; except through the CA (whom implied that he also didn't have an international plan); or Station Manager whom indicated that we were to deadhead on [the] flight back to ZZZ3 which we did. I don't know if there was some kind of miscommunication; wrong information given to/or between CA; Station Manager; Chief Pilot; Dispatch; Maintenance but basically communication was out of my control; so again we all just followed instructions given to us by our CA and Station Manager. Once we landed in ZZZ3; we found out that Dispatch was sending a ferry flight to take over our flight back to ZZZ3. I had 2 phone calls from one of the base managers -Name. She wanted to know how we were able to get back to ZZZ1? She didn't even know we were in ZZZ3. Crew scheduling removed everything from my board. I have a 14:50 hour duty day and ended up with a 6.5 overnight; Not enough rest for an early reporting time. I had to call crew scheduling many times to find out what I was doing today; I didn't find out until [later]; so I only had 03:30 hours of rest with the given early report time assignment. It is like I was being penalized for something that was out of my control. Company should have some kind of contingency plan for international situations that arise in a location [such] as ZZZZ.
