FO ACKNOWLEDGED AN ATC CLRNC TO CLB TO FL330. AN FMS CLB WAS BEGUN FROM FL290 TO FL330. AT ABOUT FL29.6; CENTER STARTED A FREQ CHANGE FOR US; AND THEN REQUESTED IF WE WERE STILL AT FL290. FO REPLIED NO; WE ARE OUT OF FL290 CLBING TO FL330 AS ASSIGNED. CENTER INSTRUCTED FLT TO RETURN TO FL290. FO RESPONDED THAT WE HAD ACKNOWLEDGED CLB INSTRUCTIONS TO FL330 WITHOUT NEGATIVE RESPONSE FROM THE CENTER. ACFT REACHED FL2.9 AND BEGAN DSCNT BACK TO FL290. CTLR STATED THAT CLB CLRNC HAD BEEN FOR COMPANY FLT XXCG AND THAT THERE HAD BEEN A STUCK MIC ON FREQ BY AN ACR Y FLT. WE THEN RECEIVED A FREQ CHANGE. UPON CHK-IN WITH NEW SECTOR WE RECEIVED IMMEDIATE CLB CLRNC TO FL330. PRE-DEP CLRNC USED. FILED FOR FL330 WITH STEP TO FL370 NEAR MSY. FREQ USE WAS HVY DUE TO PUSH FROM DFW. CREW HAD NOT HEARD COMPANY XXCG ON FREQ PRIOR. CREW NOT AWARE OF STUCK MIC FREQ PROBLEM BEFORE CLB INITIATED. WE DID HEAR CENTER XMIT TO THE ACR Y FLT INVOLVED. NO FREQ DISTORTION WAS NOTED AT ANY TIME. HOU CENTER MAY HAVE BEEN CTLING INSTEAD OF FT WORTH. TCASII NOT INSTALLED ON THIS SHIP. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 191884. I REMEMBER FREQ CLUTTER; AND REF ABOUT A STUCK MIC FROM CENTER TO ANOTHER AIRPLANE; ABOUT 1-21 MINS PRIOR.
