ACR MLG TRACK HDG DEV ON STAR INTO PDX.
Narrative
WE WERE PROCEEDING DIRECT TO IMB AND TRANSITIONING TO BONVL 2 ARR TO PDX; CAPT FLYING. HE DIDN'T TURN RIGHT AWAY TO GET ON PROPER RADIAL DEPARTING IMB VOR. 50 DEG DIFFERENCE BTWN RADIAL WE WERE ON AND PROPER OUTBOUND RADIAL FINALLY NOTICED HIS ERROR AND STARTED A 10 DEG BANK CORRECTION TO GET ON COURSE. AT THIS TIME SEATTLE CENTER ASKED US TO CONFIRM OUR INTENTIONS OF FLYING THE BONVL 2 ARR. I ANSWERED YES AND THAT WE WERE IN THE TURN AT THIS TIME; BUT AT 10 DEG BANK ANGLE WE WEREN'T SETTING ANY RECORDS GETTING OVER. AND THEN TO MY SURPRISE HE ONLY WENT 10 DEG PAST THE RADIAL TO INTERCEPT. AT THIS TIME THE RMI SHOWED A DIFFERENCE OF 40 DEG BTWN WHERE WE WERE AND THE RADIAL WE WANTED TO BE ON. I TOLD THE CAPT THAT HE NEEDED A BIGGER CORRECTION AND HE LAUGHED IT OFF SAYING HE WANTED TO CUT THE CORNER. WE WERE 50 DME PAST IMB BEFORE GETTING ON THE RADIAL. I RECENTLY DOWNGRADED FROM CAPT TO FO TO STAY IN BASE. I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH LAX NAVIGATING AS I'VE SEEN IN THE PAST 4 MONTHS; AND WITH OTHER CAPTS TOO. I GET THE FEELING THEY THINK CLOSE IS OK. NOT IN MY BOOK IT ISN'T.
