A CHARTER LTT LOST A PROP BLADE ON TKOF AT VR. PIC WISELY ELECTED TO ABORT.
Narrative
ON TKOF ROLL AFTER VR; WE HEARD A LOUD NOISE; AND MY LNDG LIGHTS WENT OUT ON THE ACFT; I THOUGHT IT WAS THE WHEEL ASSEMBLY THAT HAD FALLEN OFF ON ELSE PRESSURIZATION. I WAS ABOUT 3-5 FT IN THE AIR WHEN WE HAD A LOT OF VIBRATION IN THE ACFT. THE FO NOTICED LIGHTS GOING OFF ON THE CAPT PANEL; BEFORE SHE COULD SAY ANYTHING I DECIDED TO LAND THE ACFT AGAIN; NOT KNOWING I HAD LOST THE ENG BECAUSE I CALLED TO FO CHK YOUR ENG. IS THERE A FIRE SINCE I SMELLED ELECTRICAL BURNING SHE SAID NO ITS YOUR ENG I SHUT OFF THE BATTERY SWITCH AND OPENED MY WINDOW TO CHK MY ENG. I NOTICED A BLADE MISSING OFF THE ENG WHICH HAD 5 BLADES AT THIS POINT. THE OTHER BLADE CAME INTO THE ACFT CARGO AREA LOCATED JUST BEHIND THE PLTS BUT IN FRONT OF THE PAX CABIN. NOBODY WAS HURT. THE ACFT WAS SAFELY BACK ON THE RWY AGAIN. THE INCIDENT HAPPENED SO FAST THAT THERE WAS NO TIME TO DISCUSS WHAT WAS HAPPENING. THE FO OR PNF COULDN'T DO MUCH TO HELP EXCEPT TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS PUSHED FORWARD AND TO TRUST MY JUDGEMENT TO ABORT AFTER VR. BECAUSE THERE WAS ENOUGH RWY AHEAD WE WERE ABLE TO DO THIS MANEUVER; EVEN THOUGH WE ARE TAUGHT TO CONTINUE AFTER VR AND COME BACK AROUND AND LAND AGAIN. I BELIEVE IF WE HAD CONTINUED; THE ENG WOULD HAVE FALLEN SINCE ALL THE MOUNTS HAD LOOSENED UP ON THE ACFT.
