Synopsis

Air carrier Flight Attendant reported a fumes event during departure taxi which dissipated until landing at destination. Flight Attendant was examined at local medical center for physiological symptoms.

Narrative

After pushback I noticed a very strong odor of fumes; much stronger than during a typical routine flight. I knew that there had been previous instances of fume events on this particular aircraft; Aircraft X. I notified the #1 FA (Flight Attendant) who called the Captain to let them know of our concerns. I also called the Captain myself. He asked if I had still smelled the fumes; I said no and that I would call him again if I smelled them. We took off as normal. Later in the flight I began to experience many symptoms including a strong headache; general nausea; congestion in my chest; a heavy head; light sensitivity; and loss of coordination. We attempted to call the [Supervisor]; they asked if we were able to continue our safety related functions before landing in ZZZ an hour ahead of that call. I said yes. The Agent said that paramedics would be meeting the flight and that ZZZ Flight Service was notified. We landed in ZZZ. During taxi-in to the gate; I smelled the strong fumes again. I called the Captain to notify him; he said it was exhaust. We were checked by paramedics.
