Synopsis

Cirrus Vision pilot reported the fuel metering valve failed so they diverted to an airport with a longer runway and landed.

Narrative

During descent into ZZZ; Crew observed CAS message 'FADEC CTRL DEGRADED' (58 Fuel Metering Valve). At ZZZ1 crew observed fluctuations in GPH; N1 and Thrust Pwr %. Crew also felt physical differences in change of power coming from engine. Crew configured for landing at ZZZ Runway XXL at approximately 80 feet the trust lever was retarded to idle; crew observed thrust power still at 26% and no reduction in airspeed from VREF. Wheels touched down and the situation did not change. Go-Around executed and arranged with ZZZ Approach for a holding pattern to troubleshoot. Checklist items followed as directed with the fluctuations continuing. Crew decided to land at ZZZ2 Runway XY for longer Runway and emergency services. Crew configured for landing; the same instance occurred with the thrust power. In ground effect crew turned off engine and come to a complete stop safely at ZZZ2. A fault within the fuel metering system. Having maintenance perform a full review of the fuel metering valve in indication of first message.
