GA SMA DAMAGED ON LNDG AFTER A BOUNCE.

Narrative

I DEPARTED EL PASO; TX; INTL ENRTE FOR SANTA TERESA; NM; ARPT; A DISTANCE OF APPROX 25-30 SM. THE WX WAS VMC WITH UNRESTRICTED CEILING AND VISIBILITY. I WAS FLYING AN SMA FIXED GEAR ACFT PWRED BY A 150 HP ENG. THERE WAS 1 PAX ON BOARD. THE PURPOSE OF THE FLT WAS RECREATION AND PLEASURE. DURING THE LNDG AT SANTA TERESA ARPT WITH FLAPS EXTENDED TO FULL; I FEEL THAT MY FLARE WAS A LITTLE HIGH CAUSING THE CRAFT TO SETTLE TO THE RWY VERY HARD WHICH IN TURN CAUSED THE CRAFT TO BEING TO PORPOISE. I WAS UNABLE TO APPLY PWR FAST ENOUGH TO PREVENT THE PROP AND NOSE WHEEL FROM CONTACTING THE RWY ON THE FIRST BOUNCE. AFTER 3 BOUNCES THE CRAFT BEGAN A ROLLOUT WHICH I WAS ABLE TO CTL WITH RUDDER AND BRAKES. I TAXIED TO PARKING AND INSPECTED THE CRAFT AND SAW THAT EXTENSIVE DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE PROP; FIRE WALL AND AIR FRAME AND NOSE WHEEL; NTSB AND FAA WERE NOTIFIED. I FEEL THAT THE CONTRIBUTING FACTORS TO THIS SITUATION ARE THE INHERENT CHARACTERISTIC OF THE SMA TO PORPOISE EVEN WITH THE MODIFICATION TO THE STABILATOR; PLT ERROR ON JUDGING WHEN TO FLARE DUE TO TIME IN ACFT TYPE; AND PLT INEXPERIENCE DUE TO TOTAL TIME IN ALL ACFT. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO PERSONAL PROPERTY OR INJURY.
