NOSE GEAR DID NOT EXTEND ON TOUCH AND GO LNDGS AFTER REPAIR.
Narrative
I LANDED MY AIRPLANE NOSE GEAR UP. EARLIER IN THE WK I HAD PROBLEMS WITH A SEVERE NOSE GEAR SHIMMY. I TOOK INTO A REPAIR FACILITY AND HAD IT REPAIRED. I TOOK IT OUT FOR A HIGH SPD TAXI; NO SHIMMY. I THEN TOOK THE AIRPLANE AROUND THE PATTERN FOR SEVERAL LNDGS. DURING THE SECOND TOUCH-AND-GO (SOFT FIELD) DURING THE ROUND OUT I HEARD THE GEAR HORN AND THE STALL HORN. SOMEHOW I TOTALLY DISREGARDED THE HORNS AND DID NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE THE AIRPLANE AROUND. THE SPD WAS TOO SLOW FOR ME TO KEEP THE NOSE UP AND APPLY PWR. I STILL DIDN'T TRUST THE CURE FOR THE SHIMMY THAT'S WHY I WAS DOING SOFT FIELD (SLOW SPD) LNDGS. I HAD AN IDEA THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG THAT LAST APCH; THE GEAR HANDLE DID NOT GO TO THE NEUTRAL POS AND I DID NOT HAVE A GREEN LIGHT. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ONE OF MY PARTNERS BEFORE (BROKEN WIRE) -- GEAR WAS DOWN BUT THE GEAR DOORS WERE OPEN. IN MY SITUATION LOOKING BACK I SHOULD HAVE CONTACTED TWR TO CONFIRM THE GEAR DOWN -- I DIDN'T. TALKING TO TWR AFTER THE INCIDENT; THE INDIVIDUAL SAID THEY THOUGHT MY GEAR WAS DOWN. AT THIS TIME I DON'T KNOW WHY THE GEAR FAILED. WHEN THE ACFT NOSE WAS RAISED; THE EMER GEAR EXTENSION WORKED LOWERING THE NOSE GEAR. IT WAS LATE IN THE AFTERNOON WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND I WAS SOMEWHAT TIRED FROM WORKING THAT DAY. I WAS A LITTLE STRESSED FROM THE DAY'S ACTIVITIES AND FLYING THE AIRPLANE SEEMED TO RELAX ME. THE AIR WAS SMOOTH AND I LIKED MY FIRST SOFT FIELD LNDG. I FEEL I USED POOR JUDGEMENT ON THAT LAST LNDG. I HAVE A LOT OF TIME IN RETRACTABLE ACFT (ABOUT 3000 HRS) BUT ONLY ABOUT 100 HRS IN A SINGLE PLT ACFT. I GUESS I WAS WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO TELL ME WHAT TO DO. ONE OF THE THINGS I COULD CORRECT IS I HAVE A HABIT OF USING SMA MANUFACTURER IN MY CALL SIGN IF I HAD USED SMA MODEL X; TWR WOULD HAVE BEEN ALERTED TO MY RETRACTABLE GEAR ACFT. AT THE END OF THE RWY AT RIVERSIDE IN 'WHEELS' IN BIG BOLD LETTERING; I DID DO A 'GUMPS' CHK BUT DISREGARD THE GREEN LIGHT BEING ON AS I DID VISUALLY CHK THE MAINS. I FEEL THIS INCIDENT MAY HAVE BEEN PREVENTED (PENDING FINDINGS ON THE NOSE GEAR) IF I WOULD HAVE ASKED TWR TO CONFIRM GEAR AND IF I HAD TAKEN THE ACFT AROUND.
