Synopsis
Air Carrier Ramp Personnel reported being notified a Hazmat was transported without completing the required shipping procedures.
Narrative
I was notified on Date 1 during Swing shift (XA:30pm) from my Lead that the field service shipment (7 packages) I was helping with on Date 0 to ZZZ had Lithium-Ion Batteries in it and that it is currently under investigation. On the form presented to us from tooling when bringing over the shipment all boxes were checked marked for these items being non-hazmat and a list for what was needing to be shipped out. I was the second set of eyes for my Lead on getting that shipment out. This was the first time ever doing an field service shipment and I was under prepared to check these bags going out and was not made aware that these bags came with locks on them; and I was not able to get inside them to do my due diligence on seeing what they were shipping. I did not know the proper procedures on sending a shipment out as I have never shipped a field service shipment before and I feel like was being rushed to get it out the door because when they presented us with the equipment; we only had a 1-hour time frame to ensure these packages were ready to be shipped out on Flight X ETD XR:09pm. While Lead was looking over everything and creating the tags; they had an oil dispenser M&E 39-XXXX-X-XXXX that I had took back to tooling because it had fluid all on the outside of it and we didn't want any leakage while it was being shipped out. Once it was cleaned; I brought it back with enough time to get it boxed up and helped Lead put on the tags for all of the luggage. Once they were ready; we had the driver rush to the gate to drop the shipments off as it was cutting close for the plane to start pushing out. That was the last I heard about that shipment until Lead approached me on my next shift explaining what was going on.
