Synopsis
B767-300 Captain reported the Master Caution Light and multiple gear warnings annunciated after takeoff. The flight crew returned to departure airport and landed.
Narrative
At ZZZ; after takeoff on Runway XXC; around 1;000 feet AGL; the master caution light came on; the gear disagree EICAS appeared; the gear light and door light illuminated with gear handle up. The First Officer was flying the aircraft. The aircraft accelerated and retreated flaps as scheduled and maintained 230 Knots. I requested ATC to level off at 5;000 feet and needed to do a checklist due to a gear problem. I told the First Officer to fly the aircraft and take over radio communication. I got the QRH and did the gear disagree abnormal checklist. I decided to return to ZZZ due to the nature of the gear disagree light. I called Flight Control on frequency and advised them on the Aircraft Return to ZZZ due to the gear disagree situation. I decided to put the gear down early and verify the down three green lights. Once the gear handle was selected down the green left gear down light illuminated immediately before the the green nose and right gear down lights. Once we reviewed the QRH; did approach checklist; we advised ATC we were ready for the ILS Runway XX approach. The landing was okay.
