CE525 pilot reported radio communication problems with ATC during approach.
Synopsis
CE525 pilot reported radio communication problems with ATC during approach.
Narrative
While descending on a high; wide; right downwind visual approach to ZZZ; I was cleared for the visual approach to Runway XX. I was handed off from ZZZ Approach to ZZZ Tower at approximately 6 miles northeast of the threshold to Runway XX. While continuing my right turn and descent to the base leg; I switched to the Tower frequency. I announced that I was with them for the visual to Runway XX. After a second call with no reply; I noticed a number of radio towers that were near my path of my of flight. In order to safely avoid towers; I continued my turn to the right in order to maintain good visual contact and avoid the towers. I called Tower once again with no reply to check in and report my intentions. While concerned I could not reach Tower; I entered the Tower frequency a second time and was able to reach the Tower controller. I was cleared by the controller to land and performed a visual approach to landing.I taxied to the general aviation ramp as instructed and was asked to take down a telephone number to call the Tower. I called the Tower upon securing the aircraft. I had a conversation with one of the control Tower personnel regarding that he was not able to reach me. He stated that alarms were sounding in the Tower. I; of course; had also been unable to reach Tower for those moments; so I understood the concern as I was also concerned. I was surprised to hear about alarms going off as I had no terrain or other alarms sounding in my aircraft. The control Tower personnel informed me that he had no choice but to report me for a possible pilot deviation. My perspective was that after being cleared for a visual approach; I avoided obstacles and performed a visual approach. I was cleared to land and did so. I appreciate the challenges that are often experienced between ATC and Aircraft during different phases of flight. I would appreciate reasonable consideration be given to me just as I give it each time I fly and interact with the complex and dynamic system.
