Narrative

ON THE EVENING OF NOV/92; I WAS THE FO OF FLT. THIS FLT IS NORMALLY FLOWN BY THE SMT TYPE A; HOWEVER; THE TYPE A SCHEDULED FOR THIS FLT HAD A MECHANICAL AND WE WERE DISPATCHED TO COVER THE FLT WITH THE TYPE B. THE FLT PLAN FROM JAX TO MCO FOR THE TYPE A IS JAX OMN BLITHO 6 MCO. THE FLT PLAN FOR THE TYPE B IS JAX CRG V267 ORL MCO. WHEN PUTTING OUR CLRNC ON REQUEST WITH JAX CLRNC FOR JAX TO MCO; THE CAPT ADVISED OF THE EQUIP CHANGE. THE CLRNC WE RECEIVED WAS þCOMPANY IDENT CLRED TO MCO AS FILEDþ. IN CRUISE FLT AT 10000 FT MSL AND APPROX 20 NM S OF CRG ON V267; OUR POS/NAV WAS QUESTIONED BY CTR. CTL WAS STILL USING THE TYPE A RTE WHICH BY THEIR OBSERVATION; PLACED US OFF COURSE. WE EXPLAINED THE SITUATION ABOUT THE EQUIP CHANGE AND THEY (CTR) SEEMED SATISFIED. I FELT IT NECESSARY TO INFORM YOU OF THIS HAZARDOUS SITUATION. WHEN THIS SITUATION ARISES; AND IT OFTEN DOES; WE AS THE PILOTS URGE AND EVEN TRY TO DIRECT OUR DISPATCH TO REFILE THE PROPER FLT PLAN. TO DATE WE ARE STILL EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM.
