Narrative
DEPARTED MYAM (BAHAMAS) FOR 2 HR FLT TO FXE VIA MYGF. WX CHK WITH MIAMI CENTER PER CELLULAR PHONE WITHIN 5 MIN OF TKOF AND FILED AT SAME TIME. I UNDERSTOOD 'BROKEN SCATTERED ISOLATED PRECIPITATION.' AT 8500 FT BROKEN CLOUDS AT MYGF THAT WERE SOLID AT +/- 8000 FT 20-30 MI PAST MYGF. WX CHK WITH 122.0 MIAMI I UNDERSTOOD TO STATE 8000 FT CEILING. I THEN CONTACTED MIAMI CENTER 133.4 STATING I WANTED TO DSND THROUGH CLOUDS. THERE WAS NO VFR WAY TO DSND. I WANTED TO DSND 40 MI OUT; RATHER THAN NEARER THE COAST WHERE TFC WOULD BE HVY. WHEN ASKED IF IFR CERTIFIED I ANSWERED 'NO.' WHEN GIVEN A SQUAWK CODE WHEN I (THROUGH MIAMI CENTER) VERIFIED NO OTHER ACFT WERE IN THE AREA I EXPLAINED MY INTENTION TO DSND. I THOUGHT I WOULD BE DSNDING THROUGH A THIN SOLID LAYER THEN GET TO THE 'BROKEN' CLOUDS DESCRIBED (FROM 8000 +/-). I WAS IFR DOWN TO 3000 TO 2500. WHILE DSNDING I WAS HANDED OVER TO APCH CTL 126.05. THE CTLRS WERE GREAT; BUT I ALARMED THEM (I THINK) BECAUSE OF MY LACK OF IFR CERTIFICATION. I WAS CALM. THE FLT WAS UNEVENTFUL; BUT I UPSET THEIR ROUTINE (I THINK) CAUSED THEM TO DEV TOO MUCH ATTN TO ME.
