PC24 Captain reported encountering wake turbulence on arrival into HOU in trail of a B737.
Synopsis
PC24 Captain reported encountering wake turbulence on arrival into HOU in trail of a B737.
Narrative
We were descending via the KIDDZ4 arrival into HOU and had leveled of at 12;000 ft. at SNIFY. The autopilot and autothrottles were on and we were in VNAV mode for the arrival. Just before we crossed QTRBK we encountered turbulence followed by an uncommanded roll to the right of approximately 30 degrees bank. The Pilot Flying (PF) promptly disconnected the automation and recovered the aircraft to level flight. We looked on the traffic display and saw a B737 ahead of us at our altitude on the arrival. During the descent between AAHZZ and GLUVER we encountered a similar situation with a roll to the right again. The PF recovered again and we elected to stop the descent at 9;500 ft. to avoid a further wake encounter. At this point we advised ATC we had had a wake encounter and that we would be stopping at 9;500 ft. We were given a speed of 240 knots and the Pilot Monitoring (PM) asked ATC what the speed of the B737 was in front of us and we were then given a speed of 210 and they stated the B737 was 6 miles ahead. We continued the flight to landing as normal and after landing a white 'aircraft exceedance' was displayed. Upon review it was determined that during the first wake encounter a rudder limit was exceeded by a small margin and an inspection was required. We wrote up the airplane in HOU and worked to get the passengers on to the recovery aircraft.
