ACR X FAILED TO CHANGE TO TWR FREQ LANDED WITHOUT CLRNC. PLTDEV.

Narrative

WE HAD BRIEFED A PRACTICE CAT III AUTOLAND APCH TO RWY 14R AT O'HARE AND ADVISED APCH CTL OF THE PRACTICE APCH. WE WERE BEING VECTORED TOWARD SEXXY (12 1/2 MI FROM RWY) AT 210 KIAS; 4000 FT MSL WITH AUTOPLT ENGAGED. WE WERE TURNED TO INTERCEPT THE LOC; BUT OUR SPD WAS TAKING US THROUGH THE LOC; SO WERE GIVEN A FURTHER TURN TO INTERCEPT; THEN CLRED FOR THE APCH; 3000 FT; UNTIL ESTABLISHED; 170 KIAS TO ROAMY; TWR AT ROAMY. THIS PUT US HIGH AND FAST; SO THE CAPT ASKED FOR THE LNDG GEAR AND FLAPS TO SLOW AND GET DOWN TO GS. I BEGAN THE FINAL DSCNT CHKLIST. THE CAPT REALIZED WE WEREN'T GETTING DOWN QUICK ENOUGH WITH THE AUTOPLT AND DISENGAGED IT AS WE FINISHED OUR FINAL CONFIGN. I FINISHED THE FINAL DSCNT CHKLIST INSIDE THE FAF ROAMY AND THEN BECAME CONCERNED WITH OUR STILL BEING HIGH AND FAST ON THE GS. WE CONTINUED THE APCH AND LANDED LONG. BUT SAFELY. HOWEVER; BY DEVOTING SO MUCH ATTN TO WHAT THE PLT FLYING WAS DOING; I NEGLECTED BY PNF DUTIES AND DIDN'T GO TO TWR FREQ TO GET LNDG CLRNC. FACTORS THAT LED TO INCIDENT: 1) STAYING WITH PLANNED COUPLED APCH TOO LONG CAUSING US TO BE HIGHER AND FASTER THAN PLANNED; 2) HABIT PATTERNS. I ALWAYS GO TO TWR AND CALL AT THE FAF; BUT WAS STILL DOING CHKLIST AND THEN BECAME TOO PREOCCUPIED WITH APCH. MISSED THAT PART OF MY APCH HABIT PATTERN; 3) MY PREOCCUPATION WITH APCH NEGLECTING MY OTHER DUTIES; 4) BEING MORE TIRED THAN I THOUGHT I WAS AT THE END OF AN ALL-NIGHTER AND; 5) THIS WAS FIRST TIME I HAD FLOWN WITH THIS CAPT. SO I BECAME MORE CONCERNED ABOUT HIS APCH THAN I NORMALLY MIGHT HAVE; LEADING ME TO NEGLECT MY OTHER DUTIES.
