Synopsis

Ramp Supervisor reported a ramp worker had hit the aircraft engine with a baggage cart.

Narrative

Prior to start loading the can of bags; I brief my crew on what was the plan to finish loading the flight. We all went outside together. I had told Person A to hook up the 4 string of cans and do not move yet wait for me. I went to the front cargo bin with the two loader guys to show them where the bags are going to be placed and how many cans were going inside the plane. As I go back to ground level; a zone support person approaches me to ask me what his duties are going to be; as I was briefing him I then noticed that Person A was approaching the aircraft way too close and I then yelled at him trying to stop him but it was too late at the moment. Person A's [baggage cart] had already come in contact with the aircraft. I proceeded to call a [supervisor] and the tower. When I spotted the employee was too close to the engine. The Employee was not properly trained before getting released to the ramp. Manager arrived at the gate and so did aircraft maintenance. Employees need proper training before getting released to the ramp.
