TFC WATCH ACFT HAD MID AIR COLLISION WITH SMA. BOTH ABLE TO LAND SAFELY.

Narrative

I WAS FLYING A DESIGNATED RTE FOR SKYWATCH; A PART 91 COMMERCIAL OP. THE RTE HAS BEEN DISCUSSED AND COORDINATED WITH ORLANDO EXECUTIVE TWR. WE ARE IN CONSTANT CONTACT WITH THE TWR AS WE FOLLOW THE RTE TO OBSERVE HIGHWAY TFC FOR RADIO STATIONS. WE OPERATE UNDER THE BASE OF THE ORLANDO TCA UNDER VFR USING A SQUAWK CODE AS ASSIGNED BY TWR. I WAS FLYING THE RTE AT 1400 FT. I WAS CLRED TO TRANSITION THROUGH THE ORL ATA FROM THE W TO THE N. I WAS ABOUT 4 MI NW OF THE ARPT WHEN AN SMA APPEARED AT MY 2:30 POS. I IMMEDIATELY APPLY FULL FORWARD AILERON TO EVADE THE TFC. MY L WING STRUCK HIS PAX STEP AND ADF ANTENNA UNDERNEATH THE ACFT. BOTH ACFT WERE ABLE TO RETURN SAFELY TO ORL ARPT. NO EMER WAS DECLARED. NO TFC WAS CALLED OUT TO ME. THE EVENT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED BY TWR CALLING TFC. HE WAS IN MY BLIND SPOT AS HE WAS BLOCKED FROM VIEW BY MY PAX. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 202468. DEPARTED ORL FROM RWY 7 ON A PRIVATE FLT; WITH ATP CERTIFICATED PLT AS THE SOLE OCCUPANT ON BOARD. DURING THE DEP; WHILE CLBING NW; ONE TA WAS GIVEN FOR A 'SKYWATCH' ACFT TO THE N AND HIGHER; MANEUVERING NEAR I-4. THIS TFC WAS ACKNOWLEDGED 'IN SIGHT' AND WAS SEEN AT APPROX THE 3 O'CLOCK POS SEVERAL MI AWAY. THE TFC WAS NOT CONSIDERED A FACTOR AND NORMAL OUTSIDE SCAN WAS CONTINUED. ABOUT A MIN OR SO LATER; AT AN ESTIMATED DISTANCE WITHIN 5 MI NW OF ORL; STILL DURING CLBOUT; AT BTWN 1000 TO 1400 FT MSL; ANOTHER ACFT SUDDENLY APPEARED EXTREMELY CLOSE; ON A COLLISION COURSE COMING FROM APPROX THE 9 O'CLOCK POS. NO TAS HAD BEEN GIVEN BY THE TWR FOR THIS OTHER ACFT. AN ALMOST INSTANT REACTIVE EVASIVE MANEUVER WAS PERFORMED WITH RAPID PULL-UP TO THE R. COLLISION OCCURRED IN THE AREA OF THE BOTTOM CTR FUSELAGE. AFTER; SUBSEQUENT FULL CTL OF THE ACFT WAS ASSURED; EXECUTIVE TWR WAS NOTIFIED OF THE COLLISION; AND CLRNC TO LAND WAS ISSUED. LNDG OF ACFT WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITHOUT FURTHER DAMAGE. THE PLT WAS NOT INJURED.
