Narrative

Part number XXXXX-XXX was received from Company X on Day 0. I believe it's an overwing slide bottle. This bottle should have a shelf life including hydro; bottle life; and marked as hazardous material but none [of] this was marked. (Compressed gas cylinder shelf life and hydro / bottle life info). Per manual for parts receiving; if station is designated as warehouse management system (which ZZZ is); just have to follow the prompts warehouse system is directing us. Technically if insp[ector] or receiving person can make this part serviceable due to that statement in manual when it's not showing that info in warehouse system. This part could have actually been flown as cargo without declaring as hazmat because system does not recognize as hazmat or shelf life. Since familiar with this type of parts; I was able to put this in quarantine.Per software program it appears this part is brand new to my Company sys. My concern is why is it when the buyer/authority plan on buying parts; not done his/her due diligence to update warehouse system and software program on parts that are shelf life; life limit as well as update hazmat etc.. These parts seem to just get delivered to Company warehouses to be received and made serviceable. This is a grave concern to me how lightly or ignorantly parts are taken; especially when hazmat [items] are not properly labeled. This is not the 1st time this happened; a similar situation has experienced. Had a squib that has shelf life and hazmat made it serviceable due to warehouse system did not show as such.
