ACFT EQUIP MALFUNCTION WARNING INDICATOR LIGHTS DURING APCH TO LAND.
Narrative
ON BEING RADAR VECTORED FOR HR ILS AT EWR; WE WERE SLOWED TO 210 KTS. CAPT WAS FLYING; REQUESTED SLATS EXT/FLAPS 5 DEGS. EVERYTHING INDICATION APPEARED NORMAL. ATC REQUESTED SLOW TO 180 KTS AND CAPT REQUESTS FLAPS 15 DEGS AND LNDG CHK. UPON MY MOVING FLAP HANDLE TO 15 DEGS; I NOTED TO CAPT ABNORMAL ANNUNCIATOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED; I.E. FLAP/RUDDER STOP INOP; SLAT DISAGREEMENT; STALL INDICATION FAILURE; AND THE SLAT EXT LIGHT; WHICH NORMALLY STAYS ON; EXTINGUISHED. WE REQUESTED VECTORS OFF THE APCH TO REFER TO OUR COCKPIT OPS MANUAL. WE WERE GIVEN A HOLD AND WE HAD FUEL FOR APPROX 1 1/2 HRS. SINCE OUR COM DID NOT REFER TO THIS TYPE OF ABNORMAL INDICATION; CAPT INSTRUCTED ME TO CONTACT OUR MAINT CTL. ALSO; DURING THIS INDICATION; NO ASYMMETRY WAS EVER OBSERVED OR FELT IN FLT CTLS. WE RECYCLED FLAPS BACK TO 0 DEG/SLATS EXT; THEN BACK TO 15 DEGS. HYD PRESS INDICATOR WAS NORMAL. SINCE AIRPLANE WAS HANDLING NORMALLY; WE DECIDED TO GO AHEAD AND LAND AT EWR. THE EMER EQUIP WAS REQUESTED TO BE STANDING BY ALONG RWY 4R. THE FLT ATTENDANTS AND PAX WERE ALSO BRIEFED OF OUR PROBLEM BY THE CAPT. ON APCH; BELOW 180 KTS; WHILE FLAPS WERE IN TRANSIT FROM 25 DEG TO 40 DEG; THE ANN LIGHTS BRIEFLY ILLUMINATED AGAIN AND THEN WENT OUT AS THE FLAPS REACHED 40 DEGS. AGAIN; AIRPLANE HANDLED NORMALLY. A NORMAL LNDG AND ROLLOUT WAS ACCOMPLISHED; EMER EQUIP WAS NOT REQUIRED; AND WE TAXIED TO OUR GATE. THE CAPT WROTE UP THE PROBLEM IN THE ACFT LOG BOOK AND OUR MECH IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TO WORK ON THE AIRPLANE.
