Narrative
VISIBILITY RESTR DUE TO FOG. EARLY MORNING DEP. OFF THE GATE GND ISSUED CLRNC TO TAXI TO 18L VIA B; J TAXIWAYS. WE LOOKED AT CHART AND BOTH OF US AGREED THE TAXIWAY IN FRONT OF US WAS B IT ANGLED AS CHART INDICATED BUT WAS NOT MARKED. AFTER ENTERING TAXIWAY; WE SAW B FURTHER TO THE W; WE WERE ACTUALLY ON A2. I WENT HEADS DOWN TO REVIEW CHART; WHEN I LOOKED UP I REALIZED CAPT WAS ABOUT TO HIT TAXIWAY LIGHTS. HE HAD LINED UP ON YELLOW TAXI LINE BUT THE TAXIWAY LIGHTS HAD BEEN REINSTALLED; JUST OUTSIDE OF THIS LINE AND A NEW YELLOW LINE PAINTED FURTHER IN. SO TAXI CONCRETE WIDTH APPEARED NORMAL BUT TAXIWAY ACTUALLY MADE SMALLER BY SHIFTING LIGHTS AND TAXI LINE. OLD TAXI LINE WAS NOT BLOCKED OUT ADEQUATELY. SMOOTH TRANSITION WAS MADE SO WE ASSUMED THAT NO DAMAGE TO ACFT OR TAXI LIGHT HAD OCCURRED. WE INSPECTED ACFT AT DEST. AND DID NOT SEE ANY INDICATION OF HITTING ANY LIGHTS. GND ISSUED INSTRUCTIONS TO STOP AT T8 AND CONTACT TWR. AS WE APCHED T8 WE ADVISED WE NEEDED FULL LENGTH OF RWY AND TWR OKAYED BACK TAXI AND TKOF BUT CAPT PROCEEDED TO 'T' AND ENTERED RWY AT FULL LENGTH POS. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: EARLY MORNING (DAWN); NO OR POOR TAXIWAY MARKINGS; CONSTRUCTION IN AREA; ARPT NOTAMS DID NOT INDICATE ANYTHING UNUSUAL; OLD TAXI LINE NOT REMOVED.
