CARGO FLT HAS CREW PERSONALITY PROBLEM. AT ONE POINT; NO ONE AT FLT CTLS.

Narrative

I WAS ASSIGNED FO DUTIES ON FLT FROM HKG TO ANC WITH CAPT AND A RELIEF FO. BEFORE DEP I NOTICED PERSONALITY CONFLICT WITH THE CAPT AND RELIEF FO. BEFORE ENG START; THE RELIEF FO SAT IN THE FIRST OBSERVER'S SEAT. THE CAPT ASKED THE RELIEF FO TO LEAVE THE SEAT AND LET THE MECH OCCUPY THE SEAT. THE RELIEF FO WENT TO THE JUMPSEAT. ABOUT 7 HRS INTO THE FLT; I ASKED THE CAPT TO BE RELIEVED TO GO TO THE REST AREA AND HAVE THE RELIEF FO COME SIT IN THE FO SEAT. HE SAID I COULD GO BACK TO THE REST AREA; BUT NO NEED TO HAVE RELIEF FO COME FORWARD. AFTER 1 HR; I WAS AWAKENED BY THE RELIEF FO AND WE OBSERVED THE CAPT IN THE TOILET. I RETURNED TO THE FO SEAT AND CONTINUED THE FLT WITHOUT INCIDENT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES HE AND RELIEF OFFICER WENT TO COMPANY WHO WENT TO FAA. HEARING HELD; TRIAL HELD. NTSB UPHELD THE FAA RECOMMENDATION FOR EMER REVOCATION OF CAPT CERTIFICATE. THE DISPUTE WAS APPARENTLY OVER UNION ISSUES. DOES NOT KNOW IF CAPT WILL APPEAL.
