Narrative
I FILED A FLT PLAN FROM YKM DIRECT TO CRQ. AT PM30Z I ACCEPTED MY CLRNC FROM YKM TO CRQ AS FILED. I DEPARTED YKM SHORTLY THEREAFTER AND PASSED THROUGH SEATTLE AND SALT LAKE CTRS WITH NO CHANGE IN ROUTING. ZLC THEN HANDED ME OVER TO ZOA; WE STAYED WITH OAKLAND AND WERE HANDED OFF TO 1 OR 2 MORE CTLRS. AT THIS TIME; APPROX 1:20 INTO THE FLT; WE WERE STILL ON OUR ORIGINAL CLRNC (AS FILED DIRECT) WITH NO HINT OF AN UPCOMING CHANGE IN ROUTING. SHORTLY AFTER WE ACCEPTED A HDOF TO THE NEXT CTLR; TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE WE CHKED IN WITH THE CTLR. WE THEN MONITORED CTR FREQ. WE COULD HEAR THE CTLR TALKING AND OTHER ACFT RESPONDING TO HIS INSTRUCTIONS. WE ASSUMED WE WERE IN RADIO AND RADAR CONTACT AND SUSPECTED NO PROBLEMS WITH OUR ROUTING OR COMS WITH CTR. IT WAS DURING THIS TIME THAT WE PENETRATED R2508 AND R2515. I KNEW THAT OUR ROUTING WOULD TAKE US THROUGH RESTR AIRSPACE BUT BELIEVING TO BE IN RADIO AND RADAR CONTACT FIGURED CTR WOULD RERTE US IF THE AIRSPACE WAS HOT. WE MONITORED CTR FREQ FOR APPROX 15 MINS. CTR WAS EXTREMELY BUSY AT THIS TIME SO WE FELT NO NEED TO BOTHER HIM. WHEN WE WERE APPROX 130 NM N OF CRQ I ASKED CTR TO VERIFY THAT WE WERE STILL DIRECT TO CRQ. AT THIS TIME CTR TOLD US THAT WE NEEDED TO CONTACT ZLA ON A DIFFERENT FREQ. WE DID THIS AND WERE ASSIGNED NEW ROUTING INTO CRQ. I DID NOT REALIZE ANYTHING HAD GONE WRONG UNTIL IN THE DSCNT WE WERE ASKED TO CALL HIGH DESERT TRACON WHEN WE LANDED. WHEN I CALLED FROM CRQ I LEARNED THAT WE WERE OUT OF RADIO CONTACT WITH CTR FOR 15 MINS (APPROX) AND WENT THROUGH R2508; R2505 AND R2515 DURING THIS TIME. I WAS SURPRISED TO LEARN THIS AS I HAVE SAID EARLIER THAT I BELIEVED MYSELF TO BE IN BOTH RADIO AND RADAR CONTACT. I DO NOT KNOW HOW I GOT ON WHAT APPEARS TO BE AN INCORRECT CTR FREQ.
