ACR ON TKOF ROLL NOTIFIED OF FUEL LEAK. TKOF ABORTED.
Narrative
BEING CLRED FOR TKOF RWY 28R PIT; AS AN OPERATIONAL PROC I TURN ON ALL ACFT EXTERIOR LIGHTING; I.E.; ENG NACELLE; WING; LNDG; AND TAXI LIGHTS. AS I POSITIONED THE ACFT FOR TKOF IT REQUIRED A SLIGHT R TURN FOLLOWED BY A L TO ALIGN THE ACFT ON CTRLINE AND THEN IMMEDIATELY BEGAN TKOF ROLL. AT APPROX 100 KTS; THE ACFT BEHIND US RPTED TO THE TWR FUEL COMING FROM THE R WING OF THE ACFT IN FRONT OF THEM. THE TWR THEN ADVISED US BY CALL SIGN OF THAT RPT; AT WHICH TIME I ABORTED. WE THEN PROCEEDED TO RETURN TO THE GATE WITH THE R ENG SHUTDOWN AS A PRECAUTION. DURING TAXI IN WE NOTICED THAT THE CTR TANK FUEL WAS DECREASING AT AN UNUSUALLY HIGH RATE. BEFORE REACHING THE GATE WE LOST 4000 POUNDS OF FUEL OUT THE R WING. PAX IMMEDIATELY TAKEN OFF AND EQUIP CALLED FOR FUEL ON WING AND RAMP. FUEL ON BOARD 22100 POUNDS. FUEL SLIP INDICATES NO ERRORS. BELIEVE ACFT OVERFUELED EVEN THOUGH FUEL SLIP DOES NOT INDICATE ERROR. FUEL DESIGN SHOULD INCLUDE CUTOFF FEATURE AT TANK CAPACITY AND COCKPIT INDICATIONS (GAUGES) SHOULD NOT PERMIT OR DISPLAY ANY MORE CAPACITY THAN TANK EITHER.
