RECEIVED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO TAXI TO RWY 24R TO HOLD SHORT OF 24L. FO ACKNOWLEDGED AND WE TAXIED BY THE PARALLEL TAXIWAY TO RWY 24R. WE NEVER CROSSED 24L; BUT ON THE PARALLEL TAXIWAY TO 24R THERE IS A HOLD LINE FOR 24L POORLY MARKED. I INADVERTENTLY CROSSED THE HOLD LINE. TO PREVENT OTHER OCCURRENCES FROM HAPPENING; A LARGE 'ATTN GETTING DEVICE' WITH FLASHING LIGHTS MAY HELP. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: TWR ADVISED THAT THERE IS A HOLD LINE AND SIGN ON TAXIWAY G JUST BEYOND TAXIWAY E. THE REASON FOR THE HOLD LINE IN THIS LOCATION IS TO KEEP TAXIING ACFT TO RWY 24R FROM CONFLICTING WITH LNDG ACFT ON RWY 24L. THERE IS ANOTHER HOLD LINE ON TAXIWAY G ADJACENT TO RWY 24R. THE SIGN REFERRED TO STATES '24L APCH.' APPARENTLY; THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE THAT THE TWR IS AWARE OF. TWR BELIEVES THAT MOST OF THE PROBLEMS COULD BE AVOIDED IF PLTS WOULD CHK THE ARPT DIAGRAM CHART BEFORE TAXIING OUT; BUT CONCUR THAT ANOTHER SIGN ON THE R SIDE OF THE TAXIWAY MAY HELP.
