Synopsis
Air carrier Ground Personnel reported a ground gate return to correct the loading configuration violation of failure to secure Dangerous Goods (DG) with 15 passenger bags. DG cargo was corrected and departed safely.
Narrative
I had an incident on Date 1 with a ZZZ flight that had 2000 lbs of dangerous goods (DG) and I had put all the freight in the back pit; I had 130 plus bags in the front pit which was bulked out; I loaded all of my freight into the back pit which filled the whole pit up and left no room for bags; considering how much weight and the fright being compacted I did not think that the DG had to be secured with bags. I considered splitting but wasn't sure if I could split the carts of freight up which was the reason I had the Dangerous goods all in the back. I should have asked questions but I felt confident enough to leave it the way it was but I called load planning trying to close out and they advised I put bags in the back to be able to close the flight out. My flight returned to block due to it being pushed out and having no bags in the back with the dangerous goods. Once the flight was returned I fit the bags to my best ability around the freight and proceeded to close and push out the flight.
