Synopsis

Student pilot reported taking evasive action after landing at non-towered BTP when another aircraft landed behind the student before they cleared the runway.

Narrative

I was number 2 for a full-stop landing on RWY 8 at BTP. Traffic ahead of me vacated on taxiway B and went eastbound on A back to the ramp. I had to vacate on [taxiway] C and taxi back to RWY 8. I was a student solo; and my flight school does not allow touch and go per SOP; all student solos must vacate and taxi back for traffic pattern work. I was clearing the runway at C; but was not able to fully vacate because the traffic landing before me was taxiing by. As I was turning off the RWY; I checked the approach path to get an idea of where the final traffic landing behind me was and realized that they had already touched down and were rolling toward me. Since I was unable to vacate the runway fast enough due to conflicting traffic taxiing in front; this resulted in a runway incursion. I attempted to get as far off the runway as possible while remaining clear of the taxiing traffic to avoid the landing aircraft. After my flight; my CFI; who was observing from the ground; told me that the landing aircraft; touched down while I was about 100 feet from the taxiway I intended to vacate before I even started turning off. Had my engine failed in that situation; I would have not been able to get off the runway at all; and the aircraft which already touched down most likely would not have been able to stop in time; resulting in a serious accident. Even if I was able to fully vacate; and the taxiing traffic that landed ahead was not in the way; based on the fact that I was not even starting my turn to vacate the runway when they touched down; this would still have been a very serious incursion. The pilot should have made the very easy decision to perform a missed approach; however; they instead heavily compromised safety to save time.
