Synopsis
Part 107 pilot was approached by a disruptive person while flying. The pilot landed and requested assistance from the local police department.
Narrative
At approximately XA:30PM I was just starting my UAS flight for a real estate listing marketing project. I was hired by a real estate agent to conduct work for hire. The UAS flight was being conducted under 14 CFR §107. After a few minutes of flight time; I saw a person looking into my vehicle where I was sitting controlling the UAS. I rolled down the window partially to find out what was up. The individual later identified as last name X began to yell and demand that I not fly a drone near his property. I told him my work purpose without telling him who I was; as I did not know this stranger. I told him I was flying in US airspace defined in 49 USC §40103 and that I am allowed to fly my drone. He then threatened to shoot my UAS out of the airspace multiple times and intimidated me as the pilot. I immediately took emergency/evasive action to land & secure the aircraft as the threat was serious. I called local Police Department to request officer. The Police Department provided Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) notes indicating the education of 'basic drone rules' to [Person] X and that I am allowed to fly UAS in that location.A recommendation...create an app or Geographic Information System (GIS) layer showing pilot reported areas of potential safety and security hazards.
