Narrative
ON AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLT AT LIVERMORE; CA; WE LANDED OUR SMA ON 25L. CTLR INFORMED US ON LNDG ROLLOUT THAT WE WERE CLRED TO LAND 25R. THE FLT IN A SMA ORIGINATED FROM SJC AT XX00 (LCL) WITH STUDENT (PRIVATE PLT; INST RATED) AND INSTRUCTOR (RPTING PERSON; CFI/MEI). AFTER A SHORT FLT WHICH INCLUDED SOME AIRWORK (SLOW FLT; STALLS; STEEP TURNS; GEAR DOWN EMERS; ETC.); WE EXECUTED OUR FIRST TOUCH-AND-GO 25L AT LIVERMORE. CTLR INSTRUCTED US TO FLY L TFC AFTER THE TOUCH-AND-GO. MIDFIELD DOWNWIND (L TFC 25); CTLR ISSUED 'SMA; LIVERMORE TWR; CLRED TO LAND 25L.' PRIVATE PLT ACKNOWLEDGED 'CLRED TO LAND 25L.' ON LNDG ROLLOUT; CTLR INFORMED US WE WERE CLRED TO LAND 25R. THE CTLR DID NOT PURSUE THE ISSUE. BOTH INSTRUCTOR AND PRIVATE PLT BELIEVE THE LNDG CLRNC WAS FOR 25L. (ONLY THE VOICE TAPES COULD CONFIRM THIS). 1) CAREFULLY LISTEN; WRITE DOWN; AND READBACK CRITICAL CLRNC ELEMENTS. 2) WATCH FOR OTHER TFC FOR SIGNS THAT SOMETHING IS NOT CORRECT MAYBE YOU AND/OR THE OTHER ACFT (OR CTLR) ARE IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING A MISTAKE. 3) PRAY THAT YOU DISCOVER THE MISTAKE AND TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION BEFORE IT BECOMES AN ACCIDENT.
