Synopsis
Air carrier ramp personnel reported being notified that a passenger's scooter in the cargo compartment was found after the flight lying on its side with the battery dislodged.
Narrative
The passenger battery operated scooter was brought down the Jetway by myself and my Lead. This item was the last item loaded into pit 3. I walked the scooter up the belt loader in the upright position. Once inside the cargo pit I pushed it upright to my co-worker towards the back of pit 3. My co-worker secured it upright against the loaded passenger bags in that pit. My co-worker then proceeded to secure the net for pit 3. When we left the cargo pit the scooter was upright. We were informed by a Supervisor on Day 0; around XA00 that when the crew in ZZZ went to offload the baggage from the flight that the scooter was lying on its side and baggage on top of it. The Supervisor showed us pictures that ZZZ took when they discovered the issue. They said that the battery had become dislodged. I could not tell that from the pictures that they showed us on Day 0. The only way this would have happened (the scooter falling on its side) is with a hard landing of the Aircraft and hard braking. We followed standard SOP with everything that we did in our handling of this passengers motorized scooter.
