Narrative

On Date 0; at XA:47 local time my DPE and I hopped into the aircraft; a Beechcraft BE-76 duches; for a multi engine check ride after having completed the exterior pre-flight checklist. We proceeded to continue going through the checklist to taxi; complete runup; and depart Runway XX at ZZZ. We completed the runup checklist; as well as the before take off checklist without any issues; all annunciator light checks were completed to standards; including the three green lights of the landing gear which were indicating gear down. We discussed our departure briefing and at this point the DPE requested to perform a short-field takeoff. I communicated our departure from Runway XX on the CTAF; lined up on Runway XX; applied brakes; applied power for take off as per the checklist; checked instruments gauges; released the brakes and started to rollout; the DPE simulated a single engine failure on the ground; I aborted take off and we came to a full stop with no issues. We verified everything and then proceeded with the short-field take off at this point. At just about passing the 1000 feet marker; the front gear collapsed and the nose hit the ground. The aircraft began to skid until it finally stopped. We notified the FBO we had an issue and shutdown and secured the aircraft.
