Narrative
WE WERE GIVEN A TAXI CLRNC TAXI TO RWY 25. IN ORDER TO GET TO THE TAXIWAY WHICH WILL BRING YOU TO THE END OF RWY 25; YOU NEED TO CROSS RWY 25 ABOUT 1/4 OF THE WAY FROM THE END OF THE RWY. WE WERE TOLD TO 'TAXI TO RWY 25.' WE PROCEEDED ACROSS THE ACTIVE RWY 25; TO GET TO THE TAXIWAY WHICH WOULD BRING US TO THE APCH END OF 25. WE WERE THE ONLY ACFT MOVING ON THE ARPT AT THE TIME. WE WERE TOLD BY GND CTL THAT WE HAD CROSSED THE ACTIVE WITHOUT CLRNC TO DO SO. THIS IS THE ONLY ARPT WE OPERATE INTO WHERE YOU NEED TO CROSS THE ACTIVE TO GET TO THE ACTIVE. I KNOW WITH THAT TYPE OF A CLRNC; YOU ARE CLRED TO CROSS ALL TAXIWAYS AND RWY WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE ACTIVE. I GUESS I PUT TOO MUCH FAITH IN THE CTLRS TO TELL US TO HOLD SHORT OF RWYS OR TAXIWAYS. AS PLTS; WE REALLY NEED TO RECHK TAXI CLRNC IF WERE UNSURE OF THE CTLRS INSTRUCTIONS. WE ALSO CANNOT DEPEND ON THEM TO TELL US TO 'HOLD SHORT.' I ALSO FEEL CTLRS NEED TO BE MORE STANDARDIZED ON THEIR INSTRUCTIONS. I FEEL AT TIMES. THEY EXPECT US TO KNOW WHAT THEIR INTENTIONS ARE WITHOUT FULLY EXPLAINING THEMSELVES.
