Synopsis

GA pilot reported a critical ground conflict at non-towered airport during landing rollout with a jet on approach to same runway. Jet performed a go-around to avoid a collision.

Narrative

During a routine night-currency flight; I approached SAF from ZZZ at XA:30 at 8500 ft. About 10 miles northwest of SAF I transmitted my position and full-stop intentions on CTAF. I heard no other transmissions on CTAF. I then attempted to increase the pilot-controlled runway lights from dim to mid. The lights did not change; so switched to UNICOM and tried again. By this time; I had descended to pattern altitude and entered left downwind for 02. I continued to announce my position. About 15 miles away I saw aircraft lights approaching. I didn't give the aircraft much thought; as medical helicopters are a common scene this time of night. In fact; during my last night currency flight; a helicopter flew about 1000 feet over me while I was in the pattern. Upon landing; my GPS announced traffic short final 02; 300 ft overhead. I moved to the right side of Runway 02 immediately; and soon saw a jet going around for 02. I immediately realized I was still transmitting on UNICOM and switched to CTAF. My failure to switch back to CTAF from UNICOM nearly resulted in a runway collision. Thankfully the jet's crew were alert and initiated the go-around.
