Synopsis

EMB-175 flight crew reported pressurization failure in cruise. Diverted and landed uneventfully.

Narrative

We were operating Aircraft X from ZZZ to ZZZ1. The aircraft we were flying had a Bleed 1 MEL. At 31;000 feet; around 45 minutes into the flight; we got an EICAS message for BLEED 2 FAIL. The Captain called for the appropriate QRH procedure; and as PM; I began running it. We requested a lower altitude with air traffic control; and [requested priority handling] while descending to 10;000 feet. During so; we put on our o2 masks. The CA established communication with our Flight Attendants and Dispatch. After completing the QRH procedure; the BLEED 2 FAIL message extinguished; but the cabin altitude continued to rise. By the time we leveled off at 10;000 feet; the cabin altitude was just above that number; and stabilizing. We started the APU and notified ATC that we were diverting to ZZZ2. ATC cleared us via vectors and told us to expect Runway XXC. After descending to 4;000 ft; and since the cabin altitude was under control; we decided to burn off about 2;000lbs of fuel to get under max landing weight. We proceeded to land on Runway XXC within limitations and taxied to the gate with no further incident. After securing the aircraft and deplaning passengers; CA was making various phone calls; one of them being crew scheduling. I notified the Captain that he could make the fatigue call for me since [requesting priority handling] and the late night flying around weather; I was going to remove myself for the next flight from ZZZ2 to ZZZ1.Cause: Mechanical failure in addition to an aircraft MEL.

Second reporter narrative

Bleed one was on MEL; during cruise at FL310 EICAS message BLEED 2 FAIL appeared. We requested lower; and subsequently [requested priority handling] to descend to 10000 feet. The FO (PM) ran the appropriate QRH; the EICAS message cleared but cabin altitude continued to climb. We put on our O2 mask and cabin altitude rose to over 10000 before leveling off at 10000MSL. We started the APU and started working the diversion to ZZZ2. Had to burn 2000lbs of gas to get to landing weight. ATC vectored us for 20min. Spoke with the Flight Attendants; made a plan; and a passenger PA; also message Dispatch. ATC vectored us on the ILS XXC into ZZZ2. Normal within limits landing and taxi into the gate. Crew scheduling wanted us to continue our flight in another aircraft. After the [priority] and late hours I did not continue on; and removed myself from the flight for fatigue. Cause: Bleed system failures and MEL.
