Synopsis

Air carrier Captain reported ATC warned them of a UAS in their area. The First Officer saw the UAS and no evasive action was taken.

Narrative

The drone sighting occurred on the HTOWN3 RNAV ARRIVAL between WDLNS and REIGN fix on the ILS 8R. APPROACH CONTROL assigned us 6000 feet and to proceed direst to the REIGN intersection. I heard ATC advise arrival traffic of a drone that was spotted in the area at approximately 6000 feet. We began to look for the drone [to] see if we could spot it. The weather was scattered and broken clouds with bases from 4800 feet to tops of approximately 9000 feet; as a result we were in and out of the clouds. I did not see the drone however; the first officer spotted the drone on our right side below our aircraft. He estimated that the drone was 200 below and about 500 feet to the right of our aircraft. It was a 4 rotor drone that was green in color. We were at 6000 feet at that time about 7 miles WSW of the REIGN waypoint. No evasive maneuvering was required as it was passing by our aircraft as we acquired it visually. Several other aircraft behind us reported it as well. After landing; I contacted the Chief Pilot and dispatch to report the drone.
