Synopsis
EMB-190 pilot reported an aircraft dispatched with one inoperative bleed system experienced failure of the other bleed system during departure climb that resulted in depressurization. Flight crew returned to departure airport and landed.
Narrative
Deadheaded down to ZZZ to ferry a broken airplane back to ZZZ1 that was being worked on for 3 days. Airplane had much history and maintenance performed on bleed and pack systems. We departed with Bleed 2 inop; and Pack 2 Inop. (MEL XX-XX-XXX and XX-XX-XXA respectively) the airplane had history of Bleed Leak 1 indications.Upon departure from ZZZ through 17;000' we had a Bleed 1 Leak Master Caution. It was a surprise; but not something we hadn't considered. I ran through the QRH; which had us securing that Bleed; without an option of resetting it- we were stuck depressurizing. I started the APU. We leveled off; and as the cabin began to climb; we descended to 10;000; and weighing options; and dispatch input; we decided to return to ZZZ since we did not have the fuel to continue at 10;000; and could not reset the bleed per the QRH.We did not declare an emergency; we had all parameters under control and we did not exceed any limitations (particularly oxygen use / cabin altitude). We returned to an uneventful landing back in ZZZ; where Maintenance met us to try another method of dealing with these issues.
