Synopsis
General aviation pilot reported a near miss with another aircraft during takeoff at night from a non-towered airport on a training flight. The pilot mis-interpreted a clearance void time and departed with improper spacing resulting in the other aircraft on final approach taking evasive action to avoid a collision.
Narrative
Solo night cross country time needed for flight training. Flight was filed IFR from TVC to ZZZ. I was flying Aircraft X. I contacted Minneapolis Center; while holding short runway 28. 'Minneapolis center; Aircraft X in on the ground at traverse city; requesting IFR.' Mini Center after first calling me Aircraft Y; which I corrected; confirmed that I was in the ground and what runway I was holding short. I told them I was holding short runway 28. They told me two jets were coming in which I confirmed I could see both of them. Mini Center gave me my IFR clearance; which I read back and then gave me my take off clearance with a void time of 3 minutes. This first jet had landed during these radio calls and had cleared the runway. The 3 min void time made me believe ATC wanted to take off in between the two jets; because it can easily take a jet on final 3 minutes to land; stop and clear the runway. During Mini Centers call to take off with the void time; mini center told me to take off runway 32; which TVC does not have; I corrected ATC and confirmed take off of runway 28 which they confirmed 28. Switching back to TVC CTAF; I glanced up on final seeing the jet but not realizing he was short final; and in the moment of haste forgetting how much faster a jet is than Aircraft X. I then declared I was taking the runway and as I moved onto center line the jet radio how dumb of a move I had just made. Sure enough; in the dark I didn't realize how close the jet on final was and how fast he was moving. Rolling down the runway the jet went around and past over head as I was climbing about 200 ft above the runway. Completely my mistake and fault; if not for the jets go around and if I had taken a little longer on the runway I would've have been killed and most likely injured or killed the pilots and crew on the jet.
