Synopsis
Glasair pilot reported landing safely after noticing fuel was leaking into the cockpit shortly after takeoff.
Narrative
I departed runway XX in my Glasair Super IIS FT. Normal take-off until I raised the nose at which time; I felt liquid on my ankle. I also smelled fuel. I told the Tower I needed to come back around and land. They said OK and asked me what was wrong. I think I said I had fuel coming into the cockpit. As I started a left turn for downwind; I saw a little more fuel coming down on the passenger side. That got me a little more excited so I said I wanted to land XY (faster way to get on the ground). Somewhere in here the Controller asked if I wanted to declare an emergency; I said something like 'No; just let me land.' She said any runway or the taxiway. I made a right 270 and landed uneventfully on XY. By this time there was no fuel visible but of course I could still smell it.I taxied back to the front of [the] hangar and the crash truck followed me. I shut down and got out and talked to the firefighter for a minute or so. A few drops of fuel leaked out between the belly pan and the forward part of the fuselage.
