Synopsis

Student pilot reported wing tip strike and runway excursion due to wind gust on landing roll. Aircraft sustained minor damage.

Narrative

On a long solo cross-country flight originating at ZZZ1 first leg ZZZ1 to ZZZ2 second leg ZZZ2 to ZZZ Return leg to be ZZZ to ZZZ1. Began descent obtained ATIS from ZZZ. Information 1 winds reported 140 AT 10 knots visibility 10 miles sky clear temp XX altimeter XX.XX. on 3-mile short final requested wind report from Tower; Tower reported winds at 140 at 10 knots I recall controller may have added gusting 12.Short final stabilized and uneventful; touchdown uneventful. Touch down on left main (upwind) then right main (downwind) applied controlled braking on roll out full crosswind correction left wing caught by apparent gust or wind shear raising left wing causing aircraft to veer right then tip of right wing came in contact with runway causing aircraft to then veer sharply back to the left. Aircraft left runway on the left side and skidded to a stop in the grass.I was sole occupant; no injury; to my knowledge no other damage except damage sustained to front main trunnion and right wingtip of the aircraft.
